This cool wall decal was designed in October 2015, inspired by Danika Cooley’s new book: When Lightning Struck: The Story of Martin Luther. The words are an adaptation of Psalm 3:5, “I lie down and sleep; I wake again, because the Lord sustains me.”
While this phrase makes an excellent statement in a kitchen or dining room, it can also be a superb reminder of God’s provision in other parts of the home. See Danika’s photo below of how she put this wall decal over paper maché maps of Israel in her library.
Psalm 3, vv 1-4 describe David’s worst case scenario: being hunted by his own son, Absalom. Yet he never stopped trusting the Lord through this sad and fearful time. Just as Martin Luther rested in the Lord’s strength through his staggering difficulties.
There is power in God’s word, and ones like these in our home can help our families remember the One who sustains us through the trials that we’re always facing.
