Art: Darling Monograms 5, Grapes Lettering ArtIn decorating, there are times when just a small graphic touch makes a whole lot of difference to a room, with no need for a long quotation. The key is to choose a simple graphic that carries the room’s theme, and then place it in a strategic place in the room where its congruence with the overall theme can be seen and appreciated.Here’s an example. Our kitchen is done almost entirely in birch wood, with muted brown walls and the occasional accents in white. The primary decorating accent for this kitchen is grape vines, which line the tops of the cabinets. A potted grape vine arrangement is placed on the dining table as well. To add an extra embellishment to the room, we chose one of our new products, Darling Monogram, and placed it on the top of the door.
For this decorative lettering we chose the Darling Monograms – 5, and inside the border we put the Lettering Art 9-2, a lovely grape design that we thought would go well with the grape vine theme. Underneath it, we placed the quote “Family, Love, Laugh” which we did in the Freehand (General category) Lettering Style in Chocolate Brown, 1 inch high. Because the monogram was not very wide we kept the quote short. The Chocolate Brown color was chosen for an understated effect, and its placement – above the door in the same line of vision as the grape leaves above the cabinets – perfectly shows the continuation of the theme. It is subtle, it fits in, and it looks ever so elegant!
Our Darling Monograms allow you to have creative license in your decorating. You can choose from one of our many borders, then place lettering art or one, two, or three letters inside it. One thing that’s great about these monograms is that you can place them anywhere you want to add a vintage Victorian touch – not just on the wall. These will be great on your personal stationery, invitations, display boxes, over the bed, and practically anywhere that has a smooth surface.
