Oh boy. How can you diet if you have this decorative lettering hanging on the wall, inviting you to sit down and enjoy the food before you? Just imagine – a meal of Italian carbonara or pasta e fagioli and some thick cream of tomato soup, plus this decorative lettering staring at you and urging you to eat some more, and your diet’s dead.
Remember back when we were kids, how our mom would admonish us to finish everything on our plate with a “Finish your food; don’t waste it. Think of all the starving children out there.” Back then, we could never understand the relation between not finishing our food and those starving children, because the food wouldn’t be able to fly on its own to a distant country anyway. Actually, to this day we still can’t, really. This decorative lettering, “Buon Appetito,” sounds just like mom ” but in a different and pleasant way, urging us to eat some more and enjoy our meal. Forget the diet! And if you’ve just cooked a really nice dinner for yourself and your family, chances are everyone will.
We chose the Albemarle decorative lettering style in Chocolate Brown, 3 inches high, for this Italian version of the famous French expression, which in English means “Good appetite, “Have a good meal,” or “Enjoy your meal.” As an embellishment, we placed the Grapes decorative lettering art of the same color, 3 inches high, before and after the quote. The decorative lettering’s location, on the faceboard over the stove in the kitchen, is a perfect one, where you and everyone else can see it and have the perfect excuse to enjoy the repast before you (and eat some more, too).
