“Baby's name as wall decor”

In William Shakespeare's play Romeo and Juliet, there is a scene where Juliet pondered "What's in a name?" while standing on her balcony. She concluded that names are inconsequential and it is the person bearing that name that matters. For many of us, however, the name we give our newborn baby is very important - it is a also held by a beloved ancestor or relative, or one that we've always liked, or the fruit of all those hours of hunting in baby name books. It is one that we have specially chosen to call this baby, this little new bundle of joy that we have been blessed with.

Decorating the baby's room with his/her name is a great idea, but sometimes just putting the name on the wall looks mundane and ordinary. Here's a nifty variation - enclose it in a frame with whimsical embellishments, just like we did in this baby girl nursery. Our little bundle of joy is called "Abigail," and we took her name and enclosed it in a White oval frame, the edges of which are decorated with curlicues and dragonflies, also in White. The White against the green background is a beautiful combination and matches the rest of the room's furniture. Little Abigail is sure to like this and we expect she'll be spending hours and hours staring at this baby wall lettering and the pretty little Dragonfly design on the wall.

“A back to school inspiration”

For a little girl of school going age, you'll probably want wall decor that is slightly different. When your little girl starts going to school, you'll want to inspire her to see education as a way of achieving her dreams. Making our children understand the value of education and hard work at an early age will help them take it seriously as they grow up, and will inspire them to work to make their dreams come true.

Here's another great idea. We took the quote "If you can Dream it, You can do it!" and placed it on the wall of this little girl's bedroom, above the study desk beside the raised bed. The room's accents are in varying shades of red - a pink keepsake box, a frilly peach desk lamp, red wire baskets, and a very very pale pink accent wall.

Note that none of the existing accents in the room are in Deep Pink. Our addition of the decorative wall letters in Deep Pink adds to the variety of colors, and because it is in the same color family as the existing accents it complements the color theme. That is the beauty of decorating - the possibilities are endless, and using removable decorative wall letters allows you to change your decor as often as you wish without ruining the wall's finish.
